As Deputy Chairman (Political & Campaigning) my focus is on delivering well-organised, effective campaigns that help get our Conservative candidates elected.
This involves identifying and supporting prospective candidates, building strong local teams, and coordinating campaign plans across the constituency. I organise canvassing, leafleting, and polling day operations, while also managing essential campaign infrastructure such as data use, literature planning, poster site organisation, and volunteer coordination. My goal is to ensure every candidate has the tools, training, and local insight needed to run a well-prepared, professional, and successful campaign from start to finish.
Between elections, I’ll help keep political momentum going through regular action days, local engagement, and preparation for future contests. I work closely with our local MP Katie Lam to align campaign priorities and messaging, and to support shared goals across the Association. A joined-up approach helps strengthen our presence locally and ensures consistent Conservative representation from the council chamber to Westminster.
I've been actively involved in elections since 1986 and have successfully been elected five times to Ashford Borough Council and twice to Kent County Council. That experience helps me guide candidates through the challenges of standing for election, from selection to public engagement and council responsibilities once elected.
My goal is to strengthen our position across the Weald of Kent and ensure we’re always ready to fight and win elections—whether local or parliamentary. If you're interested in standing, helping with a campaign, or getting involved in any way, I’d love to hear from you.
