As your county councillor for Ashford Rural West for the last eight years I have been fortunate to serve in a beautiful part of Kent stretching from Challock down to Smarden.
The area encompasses eleven parish councils and I work with them with the aim of ensuring that local services are sufficiently robust to withstand the pressures of life in the 2020s whilst preserving the local countryside.
I combine my local duties with council involvement where I serve on a number of committees including planning. For the past four years I have served as chairman of the superannuation committee which ensures the ability to fund pensions for the employees of both the county and district councils across Kent and Medway.
Along with my elected colleagues I have striven to ensure that a Conservative administration funds and efficiently supports the wide range of services required for residents across the county including the NHS, voluntary and business sectors, the police and the Fire and Rescue authority which I have the privilege to serve on.
There are many challenges ahead but a Conservative administration at Kent County Council is best placed to provide the backdrop for an improving quality of life for Kent residents
