At a time when residents across Kent are facing rising council tax bills, squeezed household budgets, and pressure on vital local services, Reform Led Kent County Council has voted to spend over £100,000 of taxpayers’ money on party political advisers.
This decision was opposed by councillors from across the political spectrum: Conservatives, Labour, Greens, Liberal Democrats and Independents, because public money should be spent on frontline services, not political appointments.
Kent County Council has always been served by professional, impartial officers.
That system works and it protects residents, transparency, and value for money.
We are backing the petition calling for this decision to be reversed
Council tax should be spent on residents, not politics
